Terms & content policy

Short version: we publish guests' own accounts and summaries of public reports, clearly labeled. We don't claim any of it is proven. Anyone named can respond.

Content rules for submissions

How we moderate

  1. Every submission lands in a private moderation queue. Nothing publishes automatically.
  2. A person reviews it against the rules above, removes personal contact details, and may edit for length and clarity (not meaning) or ask for evidence.
  3. We reject submissions that are abusive, unverifiable in a way that targets a private person, or appear coordinated or retaliatory.
  4. Published stories are labeled “Guest's account · unverified.”
  5. Emails and IP information are never published. We keep a hashed network identifier only to fight spam.

Corrections, responses and removal requests

If you're a host or anyone named in an entry, you can submit a response or correction request. We will review it promptly, may hide an entry while we look into it, and will publish your response alongside the entry if you'd like. We correct factual errors in our summaries of public sources as soon as they're confirmed.

No legal advice; no affiliation

Nothing here is legal advice. The Renter's Court is independent and not affiliated with Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia or any platform; platform names are used only to describe where an experience happened.

Your submission

By submitting, you grant us permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and display your submission (without contact details), and you confirm you have the right to share it. You can ask us to remove your own story at any time.
